Hotel An Der Philharmonie - Cologne

the lift was tricky. but the location was perfect, just a short walk to major attractions. the breakfast had a great variety, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. the rooms had character, too.

The best thing about the hotel was it's location in the centre of Cologne.

I was very annoyed when we arrived at the hotel to find that there was no free parking and the reason I chose this hotel was that Booked.net advertised that there was free parking at a location nearby. When I confronted the hotel worker with the print out I took with me showing that your site shows free parking at a site nearby he said it was a mistake and there was nothing he could do. I therefore parked in the car park opposite at a cost of 15 Euros a day and told the hotel worker that I would complain to the manager. Later that day the hotel worker said he had spoken to the manager who would allow me to park in his personnel parking space so moved my car to another car park. When checking out they tried to charge me 12 Euros a day to park again I complained and they did not charge me. They say you need to change the deatils about parking.

The place was modern and had pretty friendly and outstandingly accommodating staff in good manner and helpful, loved the stay. The rooms were all neat with a very nice modern bathroom. Could use a safe box, central heating and a work desk. A railway station was walk from hotel...

The staff provided excellent service, with helpful reception and a great breakfast that had various options. The room was beautifully refurbished, with a powerful shower, a Nespresso machine, and air conditioning. The hotel's location is fantastic, perfectly situated between the Rhine and the Cathedral. The overall cleanliness of the room was excellent.

Common areas of the hotel are a bit dated.

location was perfect to access the messe by foot at the local town centre. The staf were although reserved very welcoming and professional

The rooms got slightly hot during this summer period and would have been great to have a better fan or more ventilation

Location to Hauptbanhof and shopping and food.

I have stayed before and will stay again but it is very noisey from the bar below the windows. Otherwise it is great and as I said I will stay again when in Koln.

Charming hotel with a perfect location

The hotel's location was fantastic, with access to major attractions in Cologne, and the breakfast buffet was a good treat that energized my exploring.

While the staff was generally accommodating, there was one instance of rudeness that left a sour note , particularly regarding check-out time enforcement.

Recommend it for couples seeking comfort

We checked in early and the staff were friendly. The bathroom was fantastic-new and really nice. The bed? Perfect, we slept like babies.

But, it wasn't cheap, let's be real.

Location

Would appreciate more flexibility of the staff: The night-staff does not know how to open the wireless internet account. The conference room has neither internet nor telephone line - just electricity. It took quite some debate before the hotel staff could arrange for a working telephone.

Closeness to the city centre and main attractions, to the railway station, to the river, calmness

Romantic friendly family run hotel, worth its 4 stars. Eggs, bacon and cheese for breakfast for offered quality. Great choice for christmas.

A wonderful hotel in the very best location possible. You can walk to everything in Koln with the exception of the sky ride, the zoo and the gardens which are easily reached by tram. Actually if you are young and energetic you could walk their and go across on the sky ride. On the return trip walk down the other side of the river and take the lock bridge back across at the train station. The staff and the breakfast people are very very accomodating. This is the place to stay in Koln!!!!!!!!

The staff is so helpful and friendly as well the location of the hotel is in middle of the old city and shopping malls
